Danielle
was second under 13 girl in the Lancashire cross-country championships. Burnley
AC won the team competition.
Walker can't stop running to victory
DANIELLE Walker won
her fifth cross country race of the season in Saturday's Mid Lancs Meeting
at Blackpool to tighten her stranglehold on the under 13's age group.
Last season she won
both the Mid Lancs and Red Rose titles, and it seems that having reached
the top of her age group this year, there is no stopping her.
Before November was
out, the 12-year-old Burnley athlete had clinched the Red Rose title again
with three straight wins, and after a comfortable win at Stanley Park gave
her a second Mid Lancs victory of the winter, she is poised for another
title.
The only blip came in
a recent Reebok Challenge Race when she took a wrong turn when leading. |

Nottingham: Danielle Walker (226), who is currently joint first with Non

National. |

first round of the All England U14 fell race at Telford on Saturday, in a time
of just over 12 mins, she won comfortably from the second placed girl.
Last
year's champion Danielle Walker of Burnley is the travelling reserve to
the British and Irish Junior Hill Running Championships at Latrigg for the
under 16s after not competing in the English Championship this season, but
selector Dave Woodhead admits he could be left with egg on his face if she
has to run as an individual.
Walker is on standby
after an injury to Blue Haywood. |
