It was another race where the Under 17s demonstrated their strength competing against older athletes with six of the first eight all Under 17.

Murray, who came second to Stanford at the Under 15 Girls race at the Reebok UK Inter-Counties in March, was delighted with her performance. Despite a spiking injury in the early part of the race she went straight into the lead on the first lap and extended it to 50 metres by the line.

She finished in 14:53 with Stanford second in 15:19. Ponsford clocked 15:28 as first Under 20.
