1999-2003

Amanda has been a schoolgirl champion for several years. She has been District 800m and 1500m champion since 1999 and a Lancashire County athlete since 2000. For the last three years Amanda has made the Lancashire Schools Cross Country Championships her own. She also competed for Lancashire in National Cross Country relays for the last three years.

When not running for her school or county, Amanda puts in the miles for the Lancaster and Morecambe athletics club. In 2000, she competed in the English Fell Championships coming fourth and helping her team to the first place.

For the last two years she has competed in the Midlands League Cross Country championships with her club. She came first in 2001 and third in 2003

In the NW Counties Road Relays this year a personal best time by Amanda contributed to Lancaster and Morecambe AC's Championship win. It also gave Amanda top spot on the rostrum.

Recently, however, the pace has begun to hot up. Amanda has begun to pit her strengths against greater and more experienced opposition. Competing in the North of England and the National Cross Country Championships her improvements continue. She took 21st pace in 2002 but improved to 15th this year.

2000

Amanda was selected to go to the National Cross-country Inter-counties in Nottingham as an under 13 girls, after finishing 3rd in the Lancashire Cross-country championships. She went on to finish 41st in her first major cross-country event in a time of 11:33, and second counter for the Lancashire team which finished in 15th place.

2001

Amanda was 7th in the under 15 girls race at the Lancashire cross-country championships. Lancaster & Morecambe AC won the team competition.
