Meet Laura

Lancashire lass Laura has already been selected for the Commonwealth Youth Games in Australia in December.

So her month at camp means she'll be getting the best possible preparation for her trip Down Under.

Not that the Loughborough University student is a stranger to international competition. In 1998, jet-set Laura took part in the World Youth Games in Canada where she finished fifth.

Her 800m victory at the Norwich Union AAA Under 20 Championships earlier this year earned her selection for the IAAF World Junior Championships in Italy, where she finished a creditable seventh in a time of 2:05.69.

Laura is a former English Schools 800m champion, having won the title in 2002.

Her personal best at the distance came at the World Junior trials in Bedford back in June when she recorded a time of 2:03.73.
